Chemistry and Chemical Biology

Vanderbilt University

I am a chemistry graduate student at Vanderbilt University. I research racial disparities in sepsis by examining what proteins are differentially expressed between black and white sepsis patients. I chose this research project because it allows me to see a connection between hard science and social justice. I am passionate about using chemistry - and science in general - as a way to empower vulnerable individuals, whether it be through research or teaching.
