I recently defended my PhD in molecular biophysics at NYU School of Medicine. My thesis work explored the dynamics of an unusual protein that rescues bacteria from potassium starvation by scavenging trace amounts from the environment and pumping them into the cell. I am interested more generally in ways of visualizing and understanding the systems of intricate chemical machinery that make up living things, and how doing so can help us solve problems.
