Christa received her PhD from the MCDB department at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2017 studying sex differences in heart disease. She is now working as a postdoctoral fellow in the cardiology department at UCSD. She is also one of the pod coordinators for the 500 Women Scientists San Diego Pod, which focuses on promoting equality and inclusivity while advocating for science in the community.
